Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) is inviting event organisers to secure their share of Victoria’s National Business Event Program, with up to $25,000 on offer for each event.
The cash injection can be put towards accommodation, venue hire, transport and other event costs, with 50 per cent of payable before the event commences to support upfront expenses.
It’s one of many state and territory funding programs now available to support business events.
MCB chief executive Julia Swanson encouraged planners anywhere in Australia to apply for the funding.
“Melbourne has always been an innovator in the events space,” she said.
“If you have ever wanted to host your event in Melbourne, now is the time to get planning and submit your application.”

The funding is open to a range of business events including conferences, exhibitions, tradeshows, workshops and seminars, as well as corporate meetings and incentive group events with a business event program.
All supported business events must run for at least two days and must attract 150 or more in-person attendees with at least 30 per cent of delegates travelling to Melbourne from interstate.
The funding is also valid only for new business event bookings, to be held prior to 31 December 2022.
Grants are available for a limited time with applications closing 30 June 2021 or earlier if funding is exhausted.
Application and eligibility details are available online.
