Hong Kong Tourism Board has set out to prove to conference and exhibition organisers that they are a destination to take notice of with a host of recent developments and marketing initiatives targeting event planners.

In 2009 the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced the establishment of its ‘Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong’ (MEHK) office, tasked with providing one-stop professional support to MICE organisers. This was the first in a series of measures by the HKTB to ensure that Hong Kong stays ahead of the competition in the global MICE sector.

Recently at the AIME exhibition in Melbourne the MEHK office adopted a highly focused approach, leveraging a marketing platform named “Hong Kong – Converging Possibilities” to sustain Hong Kong’s MICE brand through a multi-faceted campaign comprising advertising, direct mail, trade shows, public relations activities, seminars and workshops.

At 2010 AIME the HKTB, together with its 24 Hong Kong partners, showcased its MEHK branding and its annual marketing theme of Festive Hong Kong 2010, focussing on Hong Kong’s unique culture, as well as the colourful fusion of Chinese and Western festivities.
