New appointment to ABEA Board of Directors

ICC Sydney’s Samantha Glass will join the board, taking over from Cairns CC’s Janet Hamilton.

The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) has appointed ICC Sydney’s corporate affairs director Samantha Glass to its board.

Ms Glass takes over from Cairns Convention Centre GM Janet Hamilton who is stepping down.

Known for her role as founding member of ICC Sydney’s leadership team and as an ASM Global ambassador, Ms Glass has spearheaded initiatives in sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

ABEA Chair, Peter King, said Ms Glass will be a great asset to the organisation.

“As we continue to build a robust and dynamic Board, we welcome Samantha’s wealth of experience and leadership acumen,” he said.

“We are excited to be able to draw on her passion for sustainable development and brand leadership.

“We are actively considering appointments to cover areas such as emerging leaders, suppliers, and small business representation.”

ABEA acknowledged the contribution of Ms Hamilton and noted her efforts in establishing the association and supporting its mission.

Ms Glass’s appointment maintains the presence of a convention centre leader and advocate, required by the ABEA constitution.
