Business Events Perth will fund your keynote speaker in new support package

Got a dream speaker in mind? The bureau will help you secure them.

Business Events Perth is launching a new funding initiative to help planners secure their dream keynote speaker for national business events anywhere in Australia.

For a limited time, the bureau is offering up to $25,000 to eligible business events to lock in a must-see headline speaker, with the overall goal to boost event registrations.

“To help business events proceed with certainty across Australia in 2021, Business Events Perth will make 50 per cent of funds available once a speaker is confirmed,” a spokesperson for Business Event Perth told Spice News.

“All we ask is that you book a future national or international business event for Western Australia within one year of your 2021 event.

“This event can be held before the end of December 2024.”

The keynote speaker incentive is open to business events taking place before 31 December 2021, that have a duration of three days or more and a minimum of 200 in-person delegates.

Business Events Perth chief executive Gareth Martin said the new fund was designed to offer a helping hand to business events around Australia this year, which are still recovering from the impacts of the pandemic.

“We recognise that to revitalise the business events industry we need to invest in it and provide immediate support, so events can proceed with certainty,” he said.

“That is why this offer is available to national business events taking place anywhere in Australia in 2021, not just in Western Australia. We have to support events that are taking place now, so they’ll still be here in the years to come.”

Funding round-up: How states and territories are supporting business events

The new funding package is in addition to Business Events Perth’s existing subvention funding that is available for conferences, corporate meetings, exhibitions and incentive travel hosted in Western Australia.

Subvention funding amounts vary and take into consideration event duration, breakdown of attending delegates and event relevance to Western Australia’s priority sectors.

For local event planners, the Event Here Now funding program is still available for events taking place before 30 June 2021, with event sponsorship of up to $30,000 or $30 per delegate available for local business events.

Since launching in August 2020, the Event Here Now fund has supported more than 110 state-based events bringing together nearly 60,000 delegates.
