Following on from the November 2013 legalisation of cannabis in Colorado, USA, the events industry has embraced the theme and is creating high-end munchie menus.

First there was a wine matching and now? Weed-matching. Event planners and caterers are responding to the recent legalisation with snacks that would make even the most discerning stoners salivate. A sample menu from Three Tomatoes Catering includes blue cheese meatballs, chicken-Parmesan lollipops and steak-jalapeno poppers.
Chef Matt Boyington said, “From what I’ve heard, people get cravings for snack food so I came up with different flavours, different textures, savoury, salty items that people would enjoy anyway”.
