Moxy Hotels makes Australian debut with opening of Moxy Sydney Airport

The new hotel features 301 rooms, innovative 24/7 dining concepts, and vibrant working and meeting spaces.

Moxy Hotels, a prominent brand within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of 31 distinctive hotel brands, has entered into the Australian market with the opening of Moxy Sydney Airport.

Carrying forth the brand’s experiential essence, the hotel takes a bold step in redefining traditional lodging, offering lively guest experiences and a sociable service that resonates with both the youthful and young-at-heart.

Situated in the Sydney Inner-South suburb of Mascot, near Sydney Domestic and International Airports, the new property features 301 rooms, innovative 24/7 dining concepts, vibrant communal space and flexible working and meeting spaces.

There are nine different room types ranging from queen size to quad bunk beds, all featuring a cleverly designed space with ensuite bathrooms, customised foldaway furniture and open storage options.

For meetings and events, the hotel boasts 247 square metres of space which includes six event rooms and five breakout rooms, as well as an outdoor terrace for alfresco functions with city views. The largest space can accommodate up to 50 guests and a full suite of AV, meeting equipment and supplies, catering and events services is also available.

“Mascot, with its rich transit and industrial history, has been the birthplace of various transformative moments in Sydney’s history, so it’s the perfect location to launch Moxy’s first hotel in Australia,” Moxy Sydney Airport general manager Michelle Scott said.

“We are raising the bar in the airport hotel scene, with an innovative and dynamic hotel in an airport precinct where guests will have everything they want and nothing they don’t. Connecting with travellers through our spirited service, the Moxy Crew bring to life Moxy Sydney Airport as Sydney’s gateway to play.”

Moxy’s playful touches are featured from the moment guests are picked up from the airport in the hotel’s pink airport shuttle bus, after which they’re warmly welcomed with a complimentary “Get Moxy” signature cocktail upon arriving into the hotel’s lobby. The Living Room within the lobby offers a relaxed communal area adorned with a curated collection of eclectic and nostalgic items, including a 1970s photo booth and vintage lounge chairs.

Bar Moxy transitions seamlessly from a daytime workspace to a bustling social hub by night, featuring top DJ talents from Sydney. Collaborating with local brands like Archie Rose and Young Henry, the bar presents an extensive selection of cocktails, wines, and local brews, while The Pimp My Pita menu offers playful, flavourful Australian street food-inspired meals in the evening.

Inspired by the nostalgic Australian Milk Bar, the hotel’s streetside cafe, Little Baxter, provides both grab-and-go options and a cosy space for longer stays, while Moxy Pick-Ups ensures 24/7 access to grab-and-go snacks and drinks for those seeking convenience.
