The creators of Manly’s Donny’s Bar have added a new venue to their existing premises.

The Outback meets Manhattan at the Woolshed, an espresso bar by day, and a boutique craft beer and whiskey bar by night.

Featuring low-hanging woven lights, hessian upholstered bench seats, exposed brick and a solid Jarrah tree slab bar top, the Woolshed combines the character of an industrial loft on Manhattan’s Lower East Side with the authentic look and feel of an outback shearing shed.

Owner Matt Clifton said, “Most of the materials are straight off the farm; corrugated iron off the woolshed roof, sleeper wood off an old railway track and wood panelling off the side of our early 1900’s shearers quarters.”

An array of tapas are available in the bar including dishes like paprika popcorn calamari and pork shoulder pale ale hotpot, while dishes like twelve hour slow roasted lamb or the char-grilled rump seasoned with salsa verde and chimichurri are available in the loft restaurant.

Venue capacity for Donny’s Bar holds 115 seated and 150 standing, while the Woolshed holds 30 seated.

The Espresso Bar within the Woolshed will officially launch on September 1.

The Woolshed is located at 7 Market Lane, Manly NSW.
