Ideas Academy presented by Spice at AIME 2024: Rebecca Grace

Rebecca Grace, general manager of Sydney-based Centre for Inclusive Design, is presenting a session on event accessibility and inclusivity at Ideas Academy presented by Spice at AIME 2024.

For the first time, Spice is presenting the Ideas Academy at AIME 2024 – to be held on 20-21 February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre – with keynote speaker sessions and panel discussions delivering expert information and knowledge sharing about the events industry.

Each Ideas Academy presented by Spice session will be delivered silently via individual headphones, with high-quality, informative content providing practical takeaways for attendees to implement in their businesses.

Topics covered include event marketing, sustainability, food and beverage, entertainment, team building, First Nations culture and wellness.

On Tuesday, 20 February, from 2.15pm to 2.45pm, Rebecca will present the “Event Accessibility and Inclusivity” session.

This presentation will cover understanding the needs and expectations of diverse audiences with awareness and sensitivity. It will focus on:

  • Gender inclusion: How to be a better ally to LGBTIQA+.
  • Neurodiversity.
  • Differently abled persons.
  • Ethnicity.
  • Designing team building and incentive activities that promote inclusivity, respect and understanding among team members from diverse backgrounds.

The Centre for Exclusive Design has a 35-year legacy of bringing innovation and best-practice inclusive design so everyone can connect and contribute to society.

The organisation works with clients to create relevant, actionable and valuable inclusive design processes and strategies. That value includes breakthrough innovation; greater connection with internal and external stakeholders; efficiency in service delivery and operations; de-biased decision making; access to new markets; and compelling customer and employee experiences.

Rebecca has extensive experience in senior financial, operational and strategic management roles. She has diverse technical skills, a unique understanding of business, and brings a lifelong fascination with the human experience to unlock gaps and bring organisations along on the journey of inclusion.

Ideas Academy presented by Spice sessions are free for all AIME attendees without booking.
