Event in the spotlight: AV1 Long Summer Lunch 2020

AV1 took guests into an enchanted, secret garden for the annual lunch in Sydney.

Leading audio visual provider AV1 hosted its annual Long Summer Lunch in January, taking guests on a whimsical journey into a Wonderland-inspired setting.

Not one to do things by halves, AV1 pulled out all the stops for the event, transforming the venue into an enchanted secret forest. Here are all the highlights:

FAST FACTS
What: AV1 Long Summer Lunch
When: 24 January 2020
Where: Harbourside Room at Museum of Contemporary Art
Who: 150 VIP guests of AV1

Guests entered the Harbourside Room at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) through an overgrown magical garden and vintage gate, while garden sounds played overhead.

Inside, the space was transformed into a secret garden, with an artificial grass floor scattered with leaves and greenery draped from the ceiling.

A custom wall projection designed by AV1 art director Josh Goding took over the entire length of one wall, completing the atmosphere with whimsical garden scenes.

Divine Events were behind the styling for the day, creating an Alice in Wonderland vibe with quirky, vintage elements throughout the space. On the tables, name cards were tied around little glass bottles, which held a message inside: a ticket to MCA.

Lunch kicked off with canapés and watermelon Frosé cocktails, before a shared feast of meats, vegetables and salads by The Fresh Collective. Enchanted garden dessert platters were served with dry ice to add a touch of theatre.

Entertainment was covered by Chutney, a band comprised of a violin, keyboard and double bass, while outside a handmade charm bracelet station was on offer for guests to make their own piece of jewellery to take home.

Photographer Feather & Birch was on hand to capture all the highlights.

AV1 was behind all production elements, from concept creation, event design, event management and theming to registration, audio visual and digital media.
