The board has chosen a new CEO to fill the role effective immediately.

Yee has been with the company for 10 years and was appointed CEO in 2017.

Michelle Biddle will take on the CEO position effective immediately and will work alongside Yee during a transition period until early 2020, after the company relocates to new premises in Melbourne’s Docklands.

On her resgination, Yee thanked founder Peter Rowland, the Board of Directors and the company staff.

“It has been a privilege to be chief executive officer of this iconic company,” she said.

“Throughout my tenure I have witnessed a passion and dedication that highlights how meaningful this company is both within the industry and the city of Melbourne.”

“I’m proud to be leaving the business at a time of great strength and as we relocate our operations to the Docklands precinct after 57 years in South Yarra it is time for a new chapter for the company and for me.”

Founder and chairman Peter Rowland OAM thanked Yee for her “outstanding contribution and steadfast leadership”.

“Emma has implemented a complete company restructure, launched our e-commerce business and expansion into New South Wales and recently overseen a re-launch of the brand,” he said.

Rowland welcomed Biddle to company.

“Michelle has a track record of strong leadership and deep industry knowledge within the commercial sector which makes her highly qualified to successfully lead the company and continue to expand the brand and operations nationally,” he said.

Biddle brings to the role more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector and was most recently founder and principal consultant of Biddle Cubed Management Consulting.

“I’m honoured and grateful to the Board for the opportunity to lead this exceptional company,” she said.

“The Peter Rowland brand has an outstanding Melbourne legacy and the foundation is now in place to become a successful multi-faceted national food and entertaining business. This is a terrific opportunity that any leader would welcome.”
