Novotel Brisbane has welcomed Amery Burleigh as the new general manager.
Burleigh graduated in the US with a degree in international trade and politics and a minor in French before studying winemaking and classical French Cuisine in Bordeaux, France. She is also a certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers.
Burleigh has held various managerial and F&B roles in a number of leading international hotels with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Seattle, Washington, Atlanta, Santa Barbara and Sydney.
Burleigh joined Accor in October 2007 as F&B manager at Mercure Sydney. Prior to joining Accor, she held the positions of director of Operations at Cypress Lakes Resort and Golf Club and the Golden Door Health Retreat in the Hunter Valley, NSW.
Originally from California, Burleigh says it was a natural progression, as her hometown of Carmel boasts the most hotel rooms and restaurants per-capita in the world.
