Last weekend Luna Park’s Big Top was transformed into a winter wonderland for the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Gala Dinner for Save Our Sons.

The event, produced by Scope Productions, saw over 800 guests converge upon the venue for a sit-down dinner in a room that was themed with chandeliers, illuminated trees, a 20m projection screen, Christmas music, winter forest fragrances and a crisp breeze.

On stage, the Snow Queen, a Game Of Thrones styled ‘Nightwalker’ and dancers entertained the guests, along with the String Divas  – three violinists and a Soprano dressed as Maleficent – who performed ‘Bring Me To Life’ by Evanescence. Ali Calder and Tom Handley from Wicked The Musical sang ‘The Wizard and I’ and ‘As long as you’re mine’ and Sabrina Batshon a runner-up on The Voice 2014, performed Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ against a backdrop of lasers, lighting, projection and pyrotechnics. ‘Lambassador’ Sam Kekovich performed a comedy sketch and Justice Crew performed the finale.

The event was emceed by Alan Jones and Ray Hadley, catered by Luna Park Venues and raised $250,000 for the charity.
