Newly opened QT Newcastle’s private events spaces

The design-driven hotel's signature restaurant and rooftop bar elevates Newcastle’s dining and events scene.

Newcastle has welcomed the first regional hotel for QT Hotels & Resorts with the opening of QT Newcastle in the coastal city’s East End precinct.

Housed within the heritage listed 113-year-old former Scotts Limited and David Jones building on Hunter Mall, the design-driven hotel has a signature restaurant and rooftop bar, both of which can cater to private events.

Drinks and dining at QT Rooftop.

The Izakaya-inspired Rooftop at QT can host up to 100 guests exclusively from Sunday through to Thursday, or during the day on Fridays and Saturdays. It offers an extensive range of whisky, gin and local Hunter wines, alongside a catering menu influenced by the tastes of Tokyo – think sake, umeshu and sashimi. With seamless indoor-outdoor flow, high-top tables and breezy open areas set against a backdrop of panoramic views, this venue is ideal for cocktail style soirees.

Jana restaurant.

Led by Michelin star chef Massimo Speroni, signature restaurant Jana offers a modern Australian menu highlighting locally-sourced produce complimented by a range of Hunter Valley wines. It is available for exclusive hire and group bookings, with a sit-down option for 70 guests.

The additional private dining room, Jones, also doubles as a boardroom with full conferencing abilities, and can cater for up to 12 guests.

Drawing inspiration from Newcastle’s rich history, the hotel’s luxuriously curated modern design tells the story of reflection and renewal, celebrating the coastline and city’s surrounds. It offers 104 guest rooms and suites.
