Manly’s Hotel Steyne set for major revamp

The iconic venue will get a modern makeover while business is quiet.

The historic Hotel Steyne, located on the Manly beachfront in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, is set to be rejuvenated.

The 160 year old, three-storey venue spans almost 2000 square metres and was recently purchased by hotel group Iris Capital.

The new owners have enlisted design firm Luchetti Krelle and builders Calida Projects to undertake the multi-million dollar transformation.

The new design will retain the original saloon bar and the historic facade. Meanwhile inside, a new kitchen and dining area will lead out to an brand new outdoor dining space.

The guest rooms on level one will be updated, while rooftop bar is set for a refresh to capitalise on its panoramic views overlooking Manly beach.

“First and foremost we see it as a restoration and rejuvenation of an iconic asset for the community,” said Calida Projects director Roberto Camacho.

The refurbishment of Hotel Steyne is due for completion October 2020.
