Hospitality operators revealed for Melbourne hotel

A soon-to-open hotel in Melbourne has announced the operator of its five onsite hospitality venues.

The 188-room Hannah St. Hotel in Southbank, Melbourne, will open its doors this summer, with Peter Minatsis general manager of the property.

The new hotel has appointed The Mulberry Group as hospitality operator for five new venues inside the $150 million property, ranging from cafe cuisine to late-night cocktails.

The Mulberry Group was founded by Nathan Toleman and has history with venues including Top Paddock, The Kettle Black and Higher Ground.

Today, the group operates Hazel, Dessous, Lilac Wine, Molli and Heide Kitchen.

“From a young age, I’ve been obsessed with hotels – the excitement of checking in, exploring every corner and discovering the magic of each space,” he says.

“Some of my best memories are tied to hotels … a hotel represents an escape from the outside world – a place where every detail tells a story.

“With Hannah St, we want to capture that same sense of wonder and excitement, but with a Melbourne heartbeat – a place that feels alive, authentic and inclusive, not just for travellers, but for locals, too.”

The five venues at Hannah St. Hotel will be Hannah St Coffee; Coupette Corner Bistro & Bar; the rooftop Terrace Lounge; Bar Hannah in the lobby; and the moody The Carriage Lounge.

With sweeping views of Southbank, the Terrace Lounge doubles as a multipurpose event space with outdoor dining, and cocktails and music at night.

“Hannah St. Hotel offers more than just a place to stay – it’s an experience that will deliver the best of Melbourne’s cultural identity in one exciting destination,” says Minatsis.

“From our locally inspired interiors by Flack Studio to curated art, food and design collaborations, every detail is curated to reflect the city’s creative spirit.”
