Hilton Worldwide has revealed the signing of the 237 room Holiday Inn Cairns.

Located at 121 The Esplanade, the rebranded DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns will join Hilton Worldwide’s Australasian portfolio of 21 hotels on October 1, 2014.

“After such a successful launch of our three DoubleTree by Hilton properties in the Northern Territory in 2013, we are extremely pleased to be further expanding DoubleTree by Hilton in the Australian market,” said Hilton Worldwide’s Vice President of Operations – Australasia, Ashley Spencer.

“Cairns is the gateway to some of Australia’s most revered tourism experiences including the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

“It’s the popularity of experiences like these that has provided us with the opportunity to widen DoubleTree by Hilton’s presence to such a desirable leisure destination,” he said.

DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns will join Hilton Worldwide’s well-established Hilton Cairns hotel and the addition of DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns will cater to a broader range of potential Hilton Worldwide guests offering them more accommodation options in Cairns.

“DoubleTree by Hilton continues to be one of the fastest growing full service hotel brands in the world, and we are thrilled to continue this growth in a market as important as Australia,” said John Greenleaf, Global Head, DoubleTree by Hilton.

“We look forward to welcoming guests at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns with the DoubleTree hospitality and service culture which begins with the warm chocolate chip cookie presented to every guest at check-in.”

DoubleTree by Hilton is Hilton Worldwide’s fastest growing full service brand, with 380 properties in 33 countries and territories.

Along with DoubleTree by Hilton’s three existing Australian properties in Darwin and Alice Springs, two new DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels in Western Australia have been announced in Perth and Fremantle.
