Australian venues named as finalists for top global live arena award

Allphones Arena and Rod Laver Arena have been named as finalists in the Top Arena category for the 2011 Billboard Touring Awards.


Allphones Arena and Rod Laver Arena have been named as finalists in the Top Arena category for the 2011 Billboard Touring Awards.


Allphones Arena will compete against London’s O2 Arena and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena to win the Top Arena category for the 2011 Billboard Touring Awards.

The arena has been a finalist for the third consecutive year and is up against its Melbourne cousin Rod Laver Arena for the first time.

Judged on a time period between 1 October, 2010 and 30 September, 2011, the Billboard Touring Awards finalists for Top Arena include  Allphones Arena, The O2 and Rod Laver Arena.

Winners will be announced at the Billboard Touring Awards on 10 November in New York. Allphones Arena is deemed to be one of Sydney’s most sought after entertainment venue,hosting some of the biggest artists and entertainment shows that come to the city.

Over the past 12 months Allphones Arena has been home to major acts such as Metallica, Rihanna, The Eagles, Muse, The Wiggles, Linkin Park, Michael Bublé, Lionel Richie, Alan Jackson, Usher, Santana, Neil Diamond, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Miley Cyrus and Powderfinger to name a few.
