Event in the spotlight: ghd Duet Style launch

A gorgeous floral setting in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden was the backdrop for the launch where guests were treated to fine dining and an “unforgettable experience.”

Aurora Creative Agency and Laissez-faire Catering together with Royal Botanic Garden Sydney collaborated to deliver the launch of the ghd Duet Style… in style.

What was the event?
Earlier this year ghd Australia & New Zealand held their largest ever product launch to showcase the new ghd Duet Style.

Where and when was it held?
In March 2023 and set in The Calyx’s unique architecture and floral garden, Aurora Creative Agency collaborated closely with the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney’s venue team to create an interactive and immersive experience to shine a light on the new hair styling tool.

How many guests attended?
The event saw the attendance of over 100 guests and captivated media representatives, influencers, professional stylists and created a buzz among ghd’s key partners.

What was delivered at the event and how?
The circular pergola structure of The Calyx was lit in ghd’s signature black and gold brand colours, while tables and seating adorned the same colours for tableware, flowers, and linens.

Water features were placed around the venue and were backlit, creating flowing liquid gold and representing the ‘wet to dry’ functionality of the new styler. On-stage demonstrations were given by celebrity hair stylists, offering tutorials on the new technology and its styling possibilities. Styling bars allowed guests to experience the ghd Duet Style first-hand.

Guests were treated to a culinary experience by award-winning Laissez-faire Catering. The menu included a pan-roasted barramundi with parsnip puree, baby spinach, and fennel chip, as well as succulent beef tenderloin accompanied by broccolini, potato gratin, and parsnip chip.

Sides included miso-glazed roast cauliflower with spring onions, enoki and shiitake mushrooms in dashi.

Desserts included a mint brûlée caramel crunch, mini torched lemon tart with baked meringue, and a mini chocolate tart with raspberry.

What was the feedback from the guests/client?
Feedback from the client and guests was hugely positive and according to Influencer Marketing & Events Executive from ghd, Rachel Macdonald, the event was extraordinary.

“The teams at Aurora Creative Agency and The Calyx provided an unforgettable experience that ensured guests could experience the ghd Duet Style in the most beautiful setting,” Ms Macdonald said.

Collaborators included Botanic Gardens of Sydney, Aurora Creative Agency and Laissez-faire Catering.
