Xerocon kicks off in Brisbane

Dubbed "Coachella for accountants", the annual conference is back with a skate ramp, nail salon and barber shop for delegates.

Australasia’s largest accounting industry conference, Xerocon 2019, kicked off this week in Brisbane, once again proving corporate conferences are anything but boring.

Following the success of Xerocon San Diego and ahead of Xerocon London, the event brings together more than 3500 accountants, bookkeepers and financial professionals from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 4 and 5 September.

Delegates at the “Board Room”

Produced by global live brand storytelling agency INVNT in partership with software company Xero, the two-day event pushes the boundaries with colourful activations and interactive areas, which has landed it the nickname “Coachella for accountants”.

Last year’s event featured a 24-metre custom-built pink pool filled with over 250,000 balls, a Xerocon basketball court, putt-putt golf and ping pong networking activities. Read all about it here.

Among this year’s highlights are the “Board Room”, a fully functioning skate park where delegates can design their own deck, as well as a nail salon, barber shop and candy store.

The speaker program for Xerocon Brisbane 2019 includes Steve Vamos (CEO, Xero), Leigh Sales (journalist and author) and Ros Harvey (founder, The Yield).

Xero managing director, Australia and Asia, Trent Innes said Xerocon is an opportunity to connect and learn, while having some fun along the way.

“Every year, we love hearing from delegates how inspired they’re feeling after attending Xerocon and how they’re able to apply learnings in their day to day,” he said.

Stay tuned for a full event wrap up soon.
