The ISES Melbourne Chapter will stage their annual Student Conference at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on Monday, May 13, 2013.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Creative Events: Colour, Light, Sound,’ and will showcase leaders in the field of major event management.

The ISES (International Special Events Society) Student Conference is the premier student conference on the event Industry calendar attracting more than 450 participants from educational institutions across Victoria.

The conference, now in its fifth year, will feature speakers from a variety of professional event backgrounds, including Swisse Wellness head of partnerships, community and media, Mitch Catlin, Melbourne and Olympic Parks, senior corporate cccount manager – MOPT (Melbourne Olympic Parks Trust), Amanda Walker, Showtime Events Centre sales and events manager, Shay Murphy, and L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, business events and beauty workshop project manager, Sherridan Green.

The ISES Melbourne Chapter is continuing to build on the high profile the conference achieved after winning the international ISES Spirit of Excellence, ‘Excellence in Special Projects’ award in 2012.

The conference will provide an entertaining, interactive environment where students can hear from successful event industry representatives, from backgrounds such as music, fashion, community festivals, corporate events and hospitality.

They will be able to meet industry representatives and have the opportunity to ask questions relevant to the next step in their events and hospitality careers.

The conference is an opportunity giving students a unique chance to network with events professionals and open doors to their future.
