Get Global was last night awarded The Exhibition of the year at the Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) 2017 NSW Industry Awards in Sydney.
Gary Bender, the co-founder of the one-day MICE trade event dedicated to outbound product, said while the feedback they received from their inaugural event last July was incredible, they “certainly did not expect to win last night”.
“It is a great honour and recognises the hard work our team put in to deliver a truly exceptional event. I believe, by changing the expected MICE trade format and launching a new and untested concept, we have proven to have disrupted and exceeded industry expectations,” Gary concluded.
Unlike other trade events, Get Global enables buyers to circulate through the event at their own pace and focus on designated geographical zones to meet exhibitors, setting a new benchmark for those operating the in the MICE tradeshow industry.
In 2018, the event will also launch the Inspiration Corner, located right on the exhibition floor, driving educational leadership in the trade event space. Buyers and sellers will be inspired by travel and business experts from around the globe, in partnership with ICMI Speakers & Entertainers.
Donna Kessler, Co-founder of Get Global said: “We were really honoured to be presented with the Exhibition of the Year award and would like to thank Meetings & Events Australia for recognising Get Global and the position it now holds amongst MICE professionals and international vendors.”
