Watermark unveils refurb and new technology for conferencing

The Gold Coast’s Watermark Hotel & Spa has more in store for conference groups in 2013 with a recent upgrade to its audio visual facilities, ipad controlled technology and is currently undertaking a major refurbishment of 110 of its rooms.

“We specialise in boutique conferences and are very focused on upgrading to meet the needs of MICE clients today and in the future,” said acting general manager, Jason Pratt.

The Atlantis Ballroom, which breaks down into 3 smaller rooms, offers wireless technology featuring high powered Panasonic data projectors, motorised screens, wireless microphones and presentation audio.

Custom designed by XCite Audio Visual, the new technology allows presenters to seamlessly switch from laptop to ipad and DVD content without even leaving the lecturn.

“We have listened to our conference clients over the last year and are confident this technology will be well suited to their requirements,” he said.

“Conference clients are sure to be impressed by the exciting, new appearance of the rooms.”

The hotel has invested $1.2m in a major upgrade of 110 rooms and has these available for conference groups in the hotel.

The new rooms draw inspiration from the dynamic culture of Surfers Paradise, fusing together vibrant city and ocean themes.
