Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics and eMDee have made Australia proud at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition 2011 with their 30 minute pyromusical titled ‘Colours of Kakadu’

The Australian team conceptualised, produced and presented a spectacular 30 minute pyromusical titled ‘Colours of Kakadu’ which featured an amazing live performance from Australia’s leading high energy, didgeridoo and drum performance group eMDee.

This unique concept of dazzling pyrotechnics synchronised to Darwin band eMDee, who performed live on a floating stage in the La Ronde lake, was a huge risk to take but has turned out to be a very rewarding and memorable one for the audience that enjoyed the show.

The huge crowd were cheering, clapping and tapping their feet from the opening scene of the show and as the display concluded with an enormous grand finale, they were all on their feet giving the powerful performance a standing ovation.

Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics won two out of six awards, the Bronze Jupiter and the Best Soundtrack Award at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition 2011

“Receiving the standing ovation, the amazing response from the crowd during the show and their comments after the show and now being awarded the Bronze Jupiter is very satisfying it makes all the hard work worthwhile knowing that you produced a performance that brought so much enjoyment to so many people. It’s a real buzz,” said director Andrew Howard.

The very first performance of ‘Colours of Kakadu’ was a tremendous success and we have some exciting plans in the pipeline to take this show around the globe.”

This is the second Jupiter that Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics have been awarded at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition, winning the Silver Jupiter in 2008.
