Exponet sells part of business to Patti’s Hire

The sale has been labelled a strategic move for both companies.

Event and exhibition supplier Exponet has sold its temporary structure division to Patti’s Hire in a strategic move.

The sale, which was effective from 21 January 2020, sees all temporary structure equipment and accessories go to Patti’s Hire, while all existing staff were offered to transfer their positions in the move.

The sale will also allow Exponet to further invest in and strengthen its core exhibition business.

“Given the temporary structure division was a relatively small part of our overall business and the ever-increasing need within our exhibition division for further investment, it made sense to sell this to an existing temporary structure business like Patti’s Hire,” said Exponet executive director Jim Delahunty.

“It also gives us the opportunity to partner with Patti’s Hire moving forward for our structure requirements.”

Patti’s Hire CEO Darren Wheeler said the move takes the business to a new level in terms of volume and range.

“This purchase coincides with Patti’s Hire celebrating our 50th year in business as a focused, experienced temporary structure provider and we look forward to continuing to cement our place nationally in the marketplace,” he said.

“The team coming across from Exponet bring with them vast knowledge and experience in the major events sector and we are, as a newly formed team, ready to deliver.”

Wheeler also acknowledge the opportunity to work more closely with Exponet, calling it a “win, win”.

“Exponet have long been experts in their field, and have designed and built some amazing fit outs for high profile events such as the G20 and Commonwealth Games,” he said.

“To have this relationship with a company like Exponet is invaluable.”
