The four day event was filmed for a series of eight, one hour TV episodes for Channel ONE and Sky Business Network to be telecast later this year.

“It’s so exciting to have secured a long term partnership to stage Australia’s first televised corporate adventure challenge event right here on location in Cairns featuring the reef, rainforest and wild rivers” said CEO of Tourism Tropical North Queensland Rob Giason.

“This style of integrated marketing activity for our region will bring our “natural place to meet” branding to life for a TV audience in Australia and 29 countries” he said. To give the fantastic natural environment of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef region maximum exposure, the team challenges are taking place on the Great Barrier Reef, in the rainforest, on the rivers, on the Cairns Esplanade and at Palm Cove.

“We are also focusing attention through XVenture, on the events of the Cairns Airport Cairns Challenge and Adventure Festival, targeting participation in those events from corporate Australia. Building on the success of Million Dollar Memo, XVenture enables our destination to engage with Australian corporations to again showcase our exciting region, great infrastructure and expertise in staging corporate events to attract corporate incentive and conference programs”  Giason said.

In a further XVenture marketing activity, TTNQ with the support of members offered the 25,000 employees of the Australian corporations participating in XVenture, the opportunity to compete online to win a holiday in Cairns and Tropical North Queensland. Not only has this generated close to 2,000 competition entries, more than 700 have signed up to receive the region’s consumer newsletter.

TTNQ was supported by Cairns Regional Council and Events Queensland to develop and stage the XVenture Corporate Challenge Cairns.
