Staging Connections Group (STG) has launched a virtual event webstreaming service that can upload video and audio content directly to the web, allowing a virtual audience to view and participate in an event.

The webstreaming service includes live webstreaming, on-demand webstreaming, podcasting, vodcasting and virtual post services such as encoding, hosting, skin design and analytics.

STG chief executive Tony Chamberlain said the new technology offered the company’s clients a total event staging delivery solution.

“Traditionally, live events are only experienced by those who are at the event as it happens; it is a one-time only experience,” he said. “Our new Webstreaming service allows us to extend our clients’ communication message to a greater audience. It is the evolution of events into the virtual world.”

Chamberlain added that webstreaming fostered more comprehensive measurements of event through ROI analysis. He said it created a stronger business case for clients to invest in live event communication against other traditional marketing media.

“We don’t see Webstreaming as an alternative to staging live events – rather a complementary service that maximises the event experience for customers and the return on their event budgets,” Chamberlain said.

STG shares were trading at 3.3 cents at 3:00pm today (May 12) compared to 2.6 cents seven days ago.
