Ruby L’otel, the popular Sydney venue celebrated its first birthday with a Winter Wonderland extravaganza last Thursday (29 July) where a crowd of 300 Ruby members and one Firass Dirani from Underbelly, The Golden Mile partied well into the early hours of the morning.

The Ruby L’otel celebrated its first birthday in winter fashion last week

Decorated in a Winter Wonderland theme, Ruby’s trappings included snow, polar bears, an Absolut ice sculpture and après-attired hostesses. When the chilling temperature became too much for some party-goers, to warm up, a few of them hopped into the Red Bull portable hot tub located in Ruby’s beautifully renovated beer garden.

There were fantastic door prizes on offer throughout the night, including 15 Heineken ski jackets and a brand new Burton snow board. Live music was played with the sounds of RnB and Old School Soul from band Shan1 ‘n’ Krew from 7pm – 9:30pm, with a mixture of beats from house, trance, hip hop, RnB and funk spun by DJ Roger’s Room from 10pm – 12am.

Guests indulged in delectable canapés such as: Prawn Gow Gee, Thai Fish Cakes, Lamb Koftas with Hummus, Tandoori Lamb Cutlets, Cauliflower and Marscapone Soup, Katsu Chicken with Macedamia Nuts, Salt and Pepper Squid, White Bait Fritters, Ricotta and Walnut Stuffed Mushrooms and Tempura and Coconut Battered Prawn Cutlets.
