Coffs Coast to host Wintersun retro-fest

Coffs Coast will once again host Australia's longest running retro and nostalgia fest in early June

Polish up on your swing dance moves and roll out the hot rods, Wintersun 2012 is hitting Coffs Harbour in June this year for its 25th anniversary.

Wintersun, Australia’s longest running retro and nostalgia festival, will run over ten days from the 1st – 11th June. The popular festival celebrates all things retro from the cars, music, fashion and lifestyle from the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

Put on your dancing shoes for the upcoming Wintersun 2012 fest when it returns to Coffs Harbour.

The 2012 calendar will feature some fantastic events as-well as some fabulous old favourites. You can renew your wedding vows with Elvis, enter a 50s Cake Bake competition, attend a roller derby, watch a vintage fashion parade or just relax by the sea and enjoy the atmosphere.

Coffs Harbour Jetty Foreshore will be the main venue for the event which will have a number of different stages, stalls and exhibition areas.

“We couldn’t be happier that Coffs Harbour was the chosen venue for Wintersun 2012 and we’re very much looking forward to playing host to their 25th festival” Glenn Caldwell, tourism and marketing manager for Coffs Coast Tourism said.

Celebrating all things retro, the fesitval runs for 10 days with a large and varied entertainment line-up.

Coffs Harbour will be the perfect backdrop for the retro festival which will showcase music genres such as Rock & Roll, Rockabilly, Swing and Honky Tonk. Plus there will also be a range of pre-1974 Hot Rods, classics and custom cars playing a major part in the festival, driving around and on display throughout the ten-day long festivities.
