Along with ticket sales, the event raised extra donations through raffles with fantastic prizes including concert tickets (Dolly Parton tickets being the crowd favourite), magazine subscriptions, music packs and a massive grand prize of a deluxe photo shoot.

The event raised approximately $6,000 and counting for the NBCF’s research which has helped improve survival rates and quality of life for the 1 in 9 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I am overflowing with gratitude for all the volunteers, artists and sponsors who supported this event and ensured it was a great success. I’m so proud of us for raising close to $6,000 in one night! It’s exciting to think what we will achieve next year with more lead time,” said Yvette Luciano, 30-year-old event producer and breast cancer survivor.

Following the huge success of this debut event, Chords for Causes plans to stage more upbeat events with great music in the future for different causes, with ‘Breast Cancer Unplugged’ planned to be an annual event every October.
