Despite travel demand increasing, the trend of short lead-time conference and incentive bookings to medium- and long-haul international destinations is showing no signs of abating, according to leading Asian airline Cathay Pacific.

Speaking exclusively to SpiceNews on camera at the airline’s Sydney offices today (Sep 20), Cathay Pacific’s Sales and Marketing Manager for Australia, Derek Morris, said while the outbound MICE market remained strong, a number of bookings would still trickle in close to departure.

Morris also said the airline’s new Business Class was proving popular and the improved product would soon be available on flights to Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne and Perth alongside Sydney, which was a launch destination for the airline and now features on the new seats on the majority of flights to and from the Harbour city.

It was also revealed that Cathay Pacific’s new Premium Economy was also set to feature on flights to Australian destinations from the second quarter of 2012.
