The Langham, Melbourne welcomes new management team members

A new hotel manager, assistant director of food & beverage, director of spa have all joined the team to further enhance the guest experience.

The Langham, Melbourne has appointed three new members to its management team, welcoming Karl Marshall, the hotel’s new hotel manager overseeing all guest experiences including accommodation and food & beverage, Bibin Bobby, assistant director of food & beverage and Kirby Pickrell, director of spa.

The Langham, Melbourne managing director, Jeffrey van Vorsselen said he was pleased to welcome the three new members to the hotel’s dedicated team of hoteliers.

“Karl, Bibin and Kirby are all all seasoned hospitality professionals and share a commitment to making each guest’s visit an experience to remember for all of the right reasons. It gives me great pleasure to welcome them to the growing global Langham family,” van Vorsselen said

“I know that they will embrace our values and culture and hope that soon they are able to experience our two newest properties, The Langham Gold Coast and The Langham, Jakarta, arguably two of the most luxurious new hotels to open in the last two years.”

Karl Marshall has recently returned to Melbourne following 12 years working overseas in Dubai, Tanzania, South Africa and most recently as the general manager of the Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman. Originally from New Zealand, Marshall was at Grand Hyatt Melbourne from 2001 until 2006 prior to re-locating to Dubai.

Kirby Pickrell brings a wealth of five star spa experience gained over many years working at respected spas in Australia including St Kilda’s Aurora Spa and Queensland’s award-winning Gwinganna as well as valuable experience working on a luxury cruise ship to her new role as director of spa at the hotel’s Chuan Spa.

Bibin Bobby joined The Langham, Melbourne in December 2021 as banquet operations manager following a significant number of years working in the luxury hotel market in Singapore. He quickly demonstrated that he was a skilled leader, an astute operator and a caring team member and he has now been promoted to assistant director of food & beverage overseeing the hotel’s banquet operations, in-room dining, Aria Bar & Lounge and Melba Restaurant.
