The Calyx to illuminate business events during Vivid Sydney

The venue will be transformed into an after-dark oasis of botanical brilliance for 'Lightscape' with a unique catering menu to match.

With Vivid Sydney kicking off tomorrow night, The Calyx in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney will be transformed into an after-dark oasis of botanical brilliance for ‘Lightscape’ – the internationally acclaimed multi-sensory experience of light, colour and sound part of Vivid Sydney from 26 May to 16 July.

The Sea of Light installation will blanket the expansive lawn in front of The Calyx and merge into a spectacular display of light climbing up its façade to create a mesmerising evening event space, with Laissez-faire Catering offering a specially crafted menu for business events to coincide with the event.

Laissez-faire Catering general manager, Sara Flaksbard said the menu will complete a fully immersive and unforgettable experience for business events guests.

“The menu features a variety of eye-catching and memorable dishes, such as the Rainbow Blondies with Candied Popcorn for drinks, the Iridescent Purple Beetroot Risotto as a standout item, and the Chef’s personal favourite, the Yellow Saffron-Steamed Hapuka. With its striking aesthetic, the menu promises to be perfect for capturing great photographs and adding to the overall unforgettable experience of the events,” Flaksbard said.

Specifically designed to complement the atmosphere of Lightscape, the menu will add a touch of sophistication and excitement to corporate events during Vivid Sydney.

Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust chief executive, Denise Ora, said The Calyx is renowned for hosting spectacular events and Lightscape will enhance the natural beauty of the Gardens and bring a new level of wonder and enchantment to the iconic venue.

“Lightscape has been specifically designed to showcase our unique plants and structures at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney after-dark – making the experience truly unique. I am excited to see the magic come to life to offer visitors and our corporate guests a unique way to appreciate the beauty of the Garden at night to create unforgettable events and experiences,” Ora said.
