Take a virtual tour of Tasmania’s best events facilities

The BET virtual map gives the user a better understanding of how accessible and appealing Hobart and Launceston are for events.

Business Events Tasmania (BET) is ready to bring event planners and conference organisers back to Tasmania, but for those not yet able to visit, a savvy online tool is offering virtual venue tours.

Designed to inspire events professionals to want to experience Tasmania’s event venues and capabilities in person, the BET virtual map is interactive and gives the user a better understanding of how accessible and appealing Hobart and Launceston are for events.

The tool includes images and virtual 360-degree tours of the cities’ major conferencing venues and video content to showcase the state’s unique activities and experiences.

With the industry having learned to be more agile and flexible over the last two years, BET chief executive officer Marnie Craig said the online tool fits perfectly into BET’s new suite of digital assets to support event planners make informed decisions.

“We still love to, and want to, bring people to our beautiful island to experience Tasmania firsthand, but we understand that industry professionals want options, which is why we have created this,” Craig said.

The project was created with funding support from Tourism Australia’s Business Events Boost Program.

“The new website reflects the breadth of what Tasmania has to offer, which is so much more than beautiful scenic landscapes and award-winning produce.

“Our compact cities are easily navigated with conferencing venues, accommodation, offsite options and experiences all often just a short walk or boat ride away.”
