MEA’s mentorship program is back

Expressions of interest are now open for events sector professionals interested in participating as either mentees or mentors in the 2022 MEA Mentor Program.

Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) has announced expressions of interest are open for its popular mentorship program, which is back for another year thanks to the support of Tourism Australia.

The 2022 MEA Mentor Program will run online from April to June 2022, which will see mentees and mentors from across the country come together and connect for the 3-month long program.

Events industry professionals will be matched with mentees to assist them them in their skills and career development, by sharing valuable advice and learning opportunities.

“In a time when our industry finds itself facing unprecedented challenge, the Program presents a unique opportunity for the industry’s current champions to share their expertise and insight with the next generation of leaders,” MEA chief executive officer Peter McDonald said.

“With Australia reopening its borders to quarantine-free travel from 21 February, it is critical to continue to support the future development of our industry, to ensure Australia continues to deliver high calibre business events and remains a competitive business events destination internationally,” Tourism Australia commercial and business events Australia executive general manager Robin Mack said.

Expressions of interest are now open for events sector professionals interested in participating as either mentees or mentors. While there is no cost to join the program, participants must be able to commit to approximately one-to-two hours per month, and mentees must be current MEA members.
