Holiday Inn Express opens in Auckland city

New Zealand’s tallest dual-hotel development opens the doors to the country's second Holiday Inn Express property in the heart of the CBD.

New Zealand has welcomed its second Holiday Inn Express property with the opening of Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre.

The brand new design-led hotel is part of the dual-hotel development by Pro-invest Group and IHG Hotels and Resorts, which also houses the newly-opened voco Auckland City Centre.

Located on the corner of Albert and Wyndham Streets in Auckland’s CBD, the Holiday Inn Express offers modern and affordable accommodation with easy access to the city’s popular shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural precincts.

Offering modern, relaxed and affordable accommodation, the property has 294 rooms featuring walk-in showers, black-out blinds, a work station, high-quality bedding with a choice of firm or soft pillows, and floor-to-ceiling windows affording expansive city and harbour views.

There is also a 24-hours reception, fitness room, self-service laundry, and three flexible meetings spaces for up to 40 pax.

Renowned for its approach to simple, smart travel, the Holiday Inn Express brand’s much-loved perks will be on off to Auckland guests, offering quick check-in, unlimited fast WiFi, complimentary EXPRESS Start Breakfast with hot and cold options, and the Express Start Breakfast Grab & Go option.

In the evenings, guests can enjoy a drink in the Great Room or head up to the neighbouring voco Auckland City Centre for dinner at Italian at Mozzarella & Co. or cocktails at the rooftop bar, Bar Albert on Level 38, which will open in August.

The hotel has a strong commitment to sustainability and is on track to achieve Green Engage Certification. It uses energy efficient equipment and systems, doesn’t have single use plastics, and offers ‘A Greener Stay’ initiative, allowing guests to opt out of housekeeping services to help to save energy, water use and waste output.

Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park opened in December 2021.
