Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains unveils new ice-skating rink

A first for the region, the Blue Mountains Ice Rink offers a fun and inclusive team building experience for corporate and conference groups of all abilities.

Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains has opened a 600-square-metre ice skating rink, open to both guests and visitors and suitable for skaters of all abilities.

Powered by locally-generated solar power, Blue Mountains Ice Rink is a first for the region and builds further on the Fairmont’s extensive leisure activities, which include golf, tennis, spa centre, swimming pools, KidsZone, and a wide range of bars and restaurants.

Exclusive-use arrangements can be made for conference and incentive groups, with group lessons also available, making it a great team building activity. There are also ice-skating facilities for people with physical disabilities.

Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains owner Dr Jerry Schwartz said it was clear that conference and incentive groups are still cautious about travelling overseas, and are looking for regional venues with exceptional leisure facilities.

“The Fairmont is already acknowledged as one of NSW’s premier conference and events venues – which was recognised again last week when it was announced as the winner in the Business Events Venues category of the NSW Tourism Awards – and the addition of the ice-rink will make it even more attractive for conference and incentive groups,” Dr Schwartz said.

“We can offer a complete program of activities for our guests, based around our premium natural setting adjacent to the World-Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park, and complemented by first-class conference facilities.

“This is our second ice-skating rink, following the introduction of a rink at the Paradise Resort in Surfers Paradise, which has proved a massive draw card for the domestic market, and I’m sure the new rink at the Fairmont will be equally popular.”

Blue Mountains Ice Skating Rink operates every day, Monday to Friday from noon to 8pm, Saturdays from 10am to 8pm and Sundays from 10am to 6pm.
