Club Med releases first events sustainability report

All-inclusive holiday company Club Med has launched its inaugural meetings and events sustainability report.

The company’s “Meetings and Events Sustainability Report” is a comprehensive source of information to support organisations’ implementation of sustainable initiatives at their events.

Club Med commissioned a survey of 200 industry leaders from a range of businesses to understand their shift towards sustainable events, their key drivers for implementing sustainable initiatives, and their challenges in meeting these objectives.

The survey results have shaped the report, delivering valuable data, market trends and expert advice on incorporating sustainable initiatives into events.

Key insights from the report include:

  • 90 per cent of those surveyed cite implementing sustainable initiatives when planning an event as important.
  • 65 per cent of those surveyed say minimisation of food waste and single-use plastics are the top two priorities when planning a sustainable event.
  • 33 per cent of those surveyed say aligning with corporate values and missions are the biggest driver for implementing sustainable initiatives.
  • 35 per cent of companies do not have a corporate social responsibility policy to follow when organising an event.
  • 15 per cent are unsure if their company has a corporate social responsibility policy in place.

“During the years, we’ve implemented a range of sustainable initiatives that strive to empower local communities and minimise impact on the environment.
