Australia's only dedicated online city directory for the conventions and events industry, the Brisbane Event Planner, has undergone a significant revamp to mark its first birthday.

Australia’s only dedicated online city directory for the conventions and events industry, the Brisbane Event Planner, has undergone a significant revamp to mark its first birthday.

Brisbane Marketing Convention Bureau director Annabel Sullivan said the online tool was now packed with even more useful features to assist event planners.

“We’ve refreshed layout and design of the website and enhanced the search engine to make it easier to locate venues, accommodation and other services,” she said.

“There is also a live Twitter feed along with other social media tools and marketing collateral to assist with delegate boosting and attendance. It’s more user-friendly than ever, making it the perfect tool for organisers to plan, promote and stage their most successful event ever in Brisbane.”

Sullivan said event planners could access the Planner anywhere, anytime on their iPhone or iPad.

“The new and improved Brisbane Event Planner gives event planners even more reason to choose Brisbane for their next meeting or conference,” she said.

The Brisbane Marketing Convention Bureau offers a free, one-stop shop providing independent advice and support to conference organisers. This includes access to business, industry, government and academic networks as well as assistance in preparing bids, planning and sourcing funding.

The Bureau also has a Convention Support Toolkit to assist organisers to stage successful business events.

Sullivan said organisers could use the Toolkit to source event planning tools, marketing collateral templates, image and copy libraries, Brisbane mobile apps, pre and post touring opportunities and complimentary onsite support including Brisbane visitor guides and maps.
