Bondi Pavilion unveils $48 million refurb

The historical landmark on Bondi Beach has been restored to its former glory, complete with new events spaces and state of the art facilities.

Following an extensive $48 million restoration, the Bondi Pavilion has reopened as a thriving hub for arts, culture and events.

The restoration of the heritage building on Bondi Beach includes an updated art gallery, flexible cultural spaces including the new Bondi Story Room digital heritage space, a welcome centre and box office, two dining venues, larger Pottery Studio including a second kiln and new toilets, showers and a family and accessible bathroom and change space. All other existing rooms inside the Pavilion have also been refurbished and upgraded.

Features outdoors include landscaped internal courtyards, a new grand entrance to the north and creating additional east-west connections through the Pavilion, better connection from Campbell Parade to the beachfront and 220 solar panels that will power 70 percent of the building’s energy needs.

Meetings, events and workshops will be well catered to with a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces available.

Spaces include the Bondi Pavilion Theatre which seats 198, the High Tide Room for up to 200 standing, the Ocean Room with its own balcony access, the ballroom-style Seagull Room, and two outdoor landscaped courtyards that can be used separately or as an entire outdoor area.
