The new flight, beginning on January 20, 2018 (northbound), subject to government approval, offers travellers from Sydney convenient access to Houston as well as many other cities across the U.S. and Latin America.

This flight marks United’s third direct route from Sydney to the U.S., with the other routes providing direct daily nonstop access to United’s West Coast hubs in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The flight will also be United’s second longest route operated at 8,596 miles, just behind Singapore to Los Angeles, which will launch this October.

“At United we are proud to offer our customers the world’s most comprehensive route network and this new flight helps to bolster that offering further,” said Marcel Fuchs, United’s vice president of Atlantic and Pacific Sales.

“We are committed to the Australian market and this addition is proof of that. We look forward to offering travellers flying on this route, and all of our other direct routes from Australia, with a faster and more convenient travel experience.”

“We are delighted to provide travellers from Sydney with unparalleled easy access to the U.S. and beyond through this new route launch,” said Alison Espley, managing director of Japan and Pacific Sales.
