Sydney’s Metro Hotel has completed refurbishments for its 4-star superior rooms in a bid to attract more corporate business.

It follows a 2004 upgrade to the hotel’s executive and standard rooms, and the refurbishment of standard rooms completed last year.

Metro Hotels chief operating officer, George Bedwani, said the boutique hotel provides an affordable option in the heart of the CBD for the corporate and MICE market.

“The hotel’s location at 300 Pitt Street means we are conveniently positioned within walking distance for guests attending events at the Sydney Conference and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour and other major CBD function centres,” ETBMice.com reported him as saying.

“There are also a lot of business travellers who attend conferences in some of the nearby five star hotels, but they or their companies aren’t prepared to pay higher accommodation rates for them to stay on-site.

The Metro Hotel has 115 rooms with internet access, cable TV and 24-hour reception. It also has a fully licensed bar and restaurant.
