PARKROYAL gets a facelift to focus on MICE

A 300-seat ballroom and 14 meeting spaces are part of the refurbishment.

The PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport has revealed a multi-million dollar refurbishment to elevate its offering as a business event destination.

Due for completion in late December 2023, the hotel’s new look will include all 276 guest rooms, the lobby, restaurant, café, and bar, as well as the hotel’s expansive events floor with a 300-seat ballroom and 14 meeting spaces.

PARKROYAL Melbourne GM, Cameron Mead, said the refurbishment will improve the experience for guests and those attending business events.

“We are excited to welcome guests to discover our contemporary new interior design aesthetic which has been influenced by Melbourne’s unique personality and inspired by diverse Victorian aerial landscapes, from the city’s grid-style urban planning to the organic form of the Yarra River,” he said.

The property is the only hotel directly connected to the domestic and international terminals via an undercover pedestrian skybridge offering convenience and for those hosting and attending meetings, conferences and events.

The refurbished meeting spaces have the latest smart technology and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment with the hotel also offering dedicated on-site AV and planning teams to ensure every event runs seamlessly.

Sustainability has been considered throughout the redesign process, with existing joinery upgraded and re-purposed in multiple areas to promote a circular economy, and antimicrobial and sustainable materials selected wherever possible to improve longevity and minimise waste.
