City’s biggest rooftop bar opens in Sydney

The largest rooftop bar in the CBD with space to hold functions for 180 guests has opened atop the Kimpton Margot Sydney.

Harper Rooftop Bar boasts a pool and colourful décor with the design drawing inspiration from beach club interiors.

Kimpton Margot Sydney’s Director of Sales, Mitchell Hacene, said events can be presented uniquely because the venue offers a blank canvas.

“[Harper] can be carefully curated to host beautiful events and brand activations complemented with amazing local food and a vibrant energy,” Hacene said.

“We live and breathe hospitality and know that every event at Harper Rooftop Bar will be executed in ease and elegance but most importantly, will deliver a truly unforgettable experience.”

Venue Manager, Brett Reynolds, said Harper is a cool, breezy and fun space.

“We want the rooftop to be as welcoming and as inclusive as possible, and you’ll see there is plenty of space for guests to linger – whether it’s in the booths, by the deck chairs, propped on the long tables, curled up or sunbathing on couches – we invite people to come up and drink, eat, relax and soak up the glorious Sydney weather,” he said.

Catered by celebrity chef Luke Mangan, the menu is based on sharing plates with dishes including Sydney rock oysters with finger lime, soba salad bowls, chilled prawns with cocktail sauce and veal cotoletta with tomato relish.

“We’ve created a delicious Mediterranean inspired menu full of small, share-style plates using fresh, local produce and plenty of amazing seafood,” he said.

“[It’s] the perfect combo to celebrate the warm summer days.”

The first major function hosted by the venue is Melbourne Cup day with the bar now taking bookings for Christmas events.
