Five reasons to consider Korea as a MICE destination

With Asia back in the MICE game after the pandemic, Korea’s vibrant culture could make it stand out when choosing your event destination.

Korea is one of the top-tier convention destinations with its MICE cities offering luxurious infrastructure, sustainable meeting locations and a variety of unique sights and experiences, according to Korea Tourism Organisation Sydney.

World class convention facilities
Regional attractions add to the colourful spectrum of Korea’s MICE destinations with their unique charm. Each locale has a specialised industry, making it even more appealing together with its beautiful convention centres equipped with world-class modern facilities. There are 19 regional convention centres and 17 regional MICE bureaus that have extensive experience in hosting international functions.

MICE infrastructure and transport
What truly makes Korea a great MICE destination is its extensive transportation network, boasting eight international airports, seven domestic airports, and five cruise terminals. Korea offers a wide array of venue choices not only in Seoul and its vicinity but also in cities with themes ranging from historical and cultural to technological, industrial, and outdoor retreats. Korea also has the fastest average internet connection in the world.

Unique venues
The Korea Tourism Organisation has selected 52 unique venues across the country through a review process, allowing guests to enjoy one-of-a-kind charms exclusive to that region. For example, the Korean Culture Theme Park offers interactive experience facilities and a variety of content, including adventure challenges that can integrate with MICE events, regular performances and traditional games. The Inje Speedium is another experience which houses a motor-themed complex to promote and celebrate automobile culture.

Team building and traditional attractions
Korea boasts modern complex facilities but also venues themed around culture and art, leisure sports, history, and tradition. For team-building activities during the event, Korea offers a wealth of captivating and memorable experiences, many related to Hallyu (the Korean Wave), such as beginner K-Pop dance classes and authentic Korean cooking classes. Further experiences include Taekwondo martial arts classes, tea ceremonies and meditation.

Customisable support programs
Korea Tourism Organisation’s MICE Bureau has comprehensive support to associations and corporate groups to successfully host international meetings and business events in Korea. The benefits include complimentary banquets for delegates, cultural programs and tours, performances and souvenirs like Korean crafts and accessories.
