Event Showcase strengthens partnership with Cure Our Kids charity

The major event industry tradeshows, Melbourne and Sydney's Event Showcase RSVP 2011, have announced their support for Cure Our Kids

The major event industry tradeshows, Melbourne and Sydney’s Event Showcase: RSVP 2011, have announced their support for Cure Our Kids – the charity that helps children and families affected by cancer.

For the second consecutive year, these major corporate and special events tradeshows will help raise awareness and funds for cancer-struck children by encouraging delegates to make a gold coin donation at the show. Those that do will receive a name badge and lanyard with a gold ribbon attached.

The alliance between the shows and Cure Our Kids has been a great opportunity for a leading tradeshow to partner with a charity with the aim of making a contribution to the community. Event manager Delwin Kriel has been instrumental in building this relationship over the past two years.

“It is important that we show our own fellow industry colleagues that charity support is an essential aspect when planning an event. As the voice of the Australian meetings and events industry, we must lead by example – not only for our sake but also to demonstrate how it can be achieved,” said Kriel.

Katrina Ortolan, fundraising and event manager at Cure Our Kids, benefited greatly from exhibiting at the Event Showcase in 2010.

“Many event managers who had already thought about charity sponsorships for their events approached us, and we were able to explain them how it works. It was beneficial for us to get the exposure, and this year we want to build on the momentum and success,” said Ortolan.

Cure Our Kids has a proven track record in organising successful fundraising campaigns. They manage a program of dedicated events and initiatives aimed at improving the level of care for child cancer patients and their families to help them cope with emotional challenges and financial strains.

Melbourne’s Event Showcase will take place on 29-30 June at the Royal Exhibition Building and Sydney’s Event Showcase will take place on 10-11 August at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre for more information on participating in these shows click here.
