Adelaide to host Philanthropy Australia conference

Philanthropy Australia’s 2024 national conference will be held in Adelaide.

Philanthropy Australia’s 2024 national conference will be held in Adelaide.

More than 700 delegates are expected to attend the event at the Adelaide Convention Centre next year.

Running from August 5-7, 2024, it will be the first time the conference has been held outside of Sydney or Melbourne.

Business Events Adelaide CEO, Damien Kitto, said Adelaide continues to gain momentum as a destination for business events.

“This win demonstrates that Adelaide is in demand for business event organisers,” he said.

“We are able to tailor a solution that suits every need and encourage high profile organisations such as Philanthropy Australia to come to Adelaide.

“We are pleased that the [South Australian] Government recognises the value of business events to the state’s economic prosperity, not only in the short term but also in regard to their economic tail.”

Philanthropy Australia CEO, Jack Heath, said Adelaide is an ideal location to profile the growth and possibilities of philanthropy across the country.

“Place and community have been critical drivers in the recent growth of philanthropy world-wide,” he said,

“South Australia has seen this through the establishment of Foundation SA and its growing network of community foundations which build on the great work of leading SA philanthropists, trusts and foundations collaborating with local charities.”
