Canberra eases event restrictions

Just in time for 2021 kick-off events and corporate meetings.

COVID-19 restrictions have eased further across the ACT, allowing larger business events to go ahead in Canberra.

As of 2 December, venues that utilise the Check In CBR app can now follow the one person per two square metre rule in each indoor and outdoor space, with a maximum of 500 people for each space.

Food can now be consumed standing up both indoor and outdoors, while alcohol consumption inside remains seated.

Large indoor venues can now hold ticketed and seated events up to 65 per cent capacity, up to 1,500 people.

The Royal Theatre at the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC) is now accepting event bookings for up to 1,500 people, ideal for staff kick-off meetings, town halls or presentations.

The NCCC Exhibition Hall can also accommodate up to 1,000 people, ideal for gala dinners, awards nights and reconnecting with colleagues.

A COVID-Safe Event Plan is required for all events at NCCC and the event must be ticketed or managed with an online registration system.
