To relive the splendor of yesteryear, Sydney’s Racecourse Drive In Cinema will reopen in May 2013 for a three month season, giving event attendees the unique opportunity to experience latest release movies and themed nights from their cars.

The highly successful trial season in 2010 saw over 16, 000 people attend 25 public sessions. The 2013 season will commence in May with over 40 public sessions running every Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the end of July.

The Drive In is available for private corporate events, product launches, educational events, team building events, networking events and VIP experiences with a maximum of 450 vehicles. There is a VIP area suited for 50 vehicles.

Corporate event nights are available for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Racecourse Drive In Cinema founder Paul Rosenberg was nostalgic about his childhood pastime and wanted families and companies alike to share in the joy of a drive in.

“Jumping in the car and going to the drive in used to be a great family bonding experience. We’ve recreated that opportunity and made it available for all.

“We have great support from companies wanting to bring teams and stakeholders together in a fun and unique environment suited for families, couples and groups,” said Rosenberg.

Showing the latest release films with opportunities for themed nights and brand specific content to be displayed on the giant 20 x 16m screen for private events, the Drive In gives event producers a flexible and functional space with an old-school edge.

Patrons listen to the movie soundtrack through their car radios, with minimal impact on nearby residents.

A host of corporate catering options are available.
