Following on from the closure of ISES (now renamed ILEA) in Australia, industry supporters have formed a new entity called Australasian Special Events (ASE).

The newly formed group welcomed 7o industry members to its launch event on Thursday 5 May, 2016, at Sydney Prop Specialists’ warehouse in Marrickville.

The event kicked off with a demonstration of Jay and David from Visio Group’s new CAD plug-in. Host in Dock 1, the first part of the evening was themed Willy Wonka and featured a selection of craft beers from Dave Events and catering from Blend 66 Catering.

The second stop featured a talk about the state of the hotel industry from Ruwan Peiris, IHG’s Australian Director of Operations, as well as a décor masterclass from ex-ISES president Lena Malouf.
