MTV celebrity Ruby Rose was on location at Dreamworld last week (November 5) to announce MTV’s latest live event show to be held at the theme park.

For four weeks this summer, MTV will plug into Dreamworld with an Australian theme park first, as some of the nation’s most recognisable faces mash together the best of MTV, in an explosive and entertaining live show called MTV Plugs Into Dreamworld – Summer Series.

Part stunt show, part game show and full of music, the 30 minute high-powered show will take the of MTV channel to a live event audience.

Held in the Dreamworld studios, MTV Plugs Into Dreamworld – Summer Series will run from December 26, 2009 through to January 22, 2010.

Dave Sibley, managing director, MTV Networks Australia said the show “will encapsulate all of the action, music and glamour you have come to expect from MTV, all wrapped up in an amazing live theatre-style show.”

Dreamworld CEO Noel Dempsey added that, “every Dreamworld guest will be entertained from Boomers to Gen Xers, Gen Ys and younger. It’s the union of the biggest youth brand in the world with the biggest theme park in the country.”

Peppered throughout each show are crazy “punkass” moments, where a stunt team pranks and performs for the audience, keeping the crowd on their toes and always laughing.

Tying the action together onstage will be a charismatic (yet-to-be-named) DJ host and Aussie celebrity guests dropping by. The live event is expected to include extreme bike stunts, break dancing, quiz show segments and much more.

There will be three shows a day, with the winning teams from the first two shows battling it out in the daily grand final.

“For the first time ever, MTV is going to plug into the Gold Coast with a live show that will take all the action off the tube and into Dreamworld,” she said, adding “Watch out kids- MTV’s coming to town!” said Rose.
